I'm new

Finding your place in our Mission Community

Churches genuinely wanting to know you and welcome you

A wooden heart amongst a mass of pebbles and stones

A wholehearted welcome

All our churches are inclusive places where we recognise the diverse and different ways we are made and in which we encounter God.

Whether you are single, married, divorced, gay, trans, non-binary, or still working “you” out: you are welcome. You don’t have to have “got” faith and you can come with your doubts and questions.

Wherever you are on the spectrum of culture, ethnicity and neurodiversity our churches are there for you.

Which service should I attend?

If you are new to church you might find our informal services more accessible to begin with, like Cafe Church or Inspire. If you have got used to living online, we have Zoom worship and plenty of website material to engage with. Some services are especially aimed at families and children but children are welcome at all times. If you are more familiar with church, comfortable with liturgy, or do not mind embracing a bit of mystery, try our more traditional services like Holy Communion and Evensong.

Ways we deepen our connections

In these pages you will be able to explore some of the things we offer that connect us beyond our local communities to the wider mission community. There are activities for children right across the local area ranging from Messy Church to Tots’ Praise, Story time to Lighthouse Choir and family fun days. Groups meet both midweek and on Sundays.

Our pastoral care matters very much to us as a Mission Community. Pastoral care is not just something the vicar does, instead clergy and laity work together to look out for and care for those in need across our Mission Community. Across the Mission Community you can find places to make friends and build relationships.

We care too about our planet, and work together across the Mission Community through our environment group to raise awareness, share information and inspire and encourage changes to our lifestyles.

We have a busy time in our Mission Community raising money for our churches and for wider charities. There are always events happening somewhere in our community and we try to support each other in our efforts. There is a lot of fun to be found in fundraising!
