When the Bible is studied, the tendency can be to focus on individual books, a gospel maybe or a New Testament letter. In church services we are directed to just a few verses for the sermon, so it’s easy to miss the fact that from Genesis to Revelation, (the first and last books) the Bible has one over-arching story. We can fail to realise that its sixty-six books, which were written by almost as many authors over hundreds of years, have a connection, a theme that unites them.
This Bible Study event spans eight weeks and is based on a course launched by the Bible Society in May last year, that looks at the whole Bible. It will help us to realise its unity and follow the theme through many events and people. Teaching videos are accompanied by a guidebook for each member of the group. It contains photographs of places, maps, descriptions of people, diagrams and much more to enrich our insights and understanding.
As always, everyone is welcome to come along to these meetings of discovery and fellowship. Everything is free, and the course is guaranteed to be informative, memorable and enjoyable. Tea and coffee are served 20 minutes before the event starts.
